Just a few notes to help navigate your way through an appointment with us
How do I make an appointment?
In order to see Dr. Nayan you need to be referred into our care. That means that you would see your Primary Care Physician or another specialist first. They would then make the referral to us. We will contact your doctor’s office with the appointment time and they will inform you of the date. As of October 2019 referrals to any specialist are valid for 2 years.
If the date we have arranged to see you doesn’t work for your schedule, please call and we will try our best to accommodate. Please keep in mind that Dr. Nayan works both in our clinic and at the hospital doing surgery, covering emergencies and in- patient care. The remainder of the time she spends on administrative responsibilities for her practice and Cambridge Memorial Hospital as well as teaching/research commitments for McMaster and Western Universities.
What is the wait time to see Dr. Nayan?
Each referral that is received is reviewed in detail to ensure that you are seen in a timely manner. Emergency and urgent cases are seen on an expedited basis which may result in a delay to see other patients. If you have concerns regarding the wait-time for your referral, please have your physician contact us directly and Dr. Nayan would be pleased to discuss our case with them.
How will I know when my appointment is?
Your referring physician will inform you of your first consultation appointment. Any follow up appointments that are required are scheduled as soon as possible according to the doctors orders. We have an automated service that will call to advise you of your next appointment about a week prior to that date. The automated service allows you to confirm or cancel the appointment.
If you are unable to attend your appointment we will require 48 hours notice. If you do not give notice there will be a $50 charge for no shows. This bill will be mailed to you and must be paid prior to a new appointment being made.
